Scholars and Dye-making

Scholars can make dye to change the colour of armour, which is very helpful for creating a good-looking cosmetic outfit.

Here is a summary of the dyes that can be made by scholars. Members of the scholar guild with the appropriate skill and standing can learn all dye-making recipes from the Improved Recipes Vendor in the guild halls. Most recipes can also be bought from the crafting vendor in skirmish camps or the auction house.

Notes:
  1. The only way to make black dye is via the scholar's guild recipe to make 5 black dye. Black dye may also be purchased from Lalia in Lalia's Market in Bree for mithril coins.
  2. The recipe for steel blue dye requires Ally standing with the Ents of Fangorn Forest.
  3. Plants listed as sourced from the wild, as well as many farmed flower parts, may be obtained from farming wild flower fields. The recipe for planting wild flower fields requires Friend standing with the Men of Dunland.
